Last Updated: August 2021
We’re all in this together. A crisis like COVID-19 affects us all. We want you to know through all of this, we are here for you. Our commitment to you goes beyond financial services. One of our top priorities as your Credit Union is the safety and well-being of members like you, our employees and the community. In light of the COVID-19 situation, we’ve taken measures to better serve our community.
We’re Here To Serve – Branch Operations Updates
We understand your need to meet in-person when it comes to your finances. All of our branch lobbies are open and ready to serve you. Our team is working hard behind the scenes to ensure the safety and well-being of both you and our employees. We have put a great deal of thought and care into preparing our lobbies for your visit. While the way we do business may look a little different, the way we care for our members will remain the same.
If you feel more comfortable, you are still able to complete most transactions through the drive-thru and you can also utilize our digital services for quick and stress-free access to your Credit Union of Georgia accounts.
We are adhering to the following safety precautions:
- Implementing a cleaning schedule to make sure all surfaces, especially high touch areas will be sanitized regularly throughout the day.
- Requesting members NOT enter the branches if they are feeling symptomatic.
- Continuing to allow members to schedule appointments online to guarantee a time to meet with a representative. Click HERE to schedule an appointment.
We will continue to closely monitor the Coronavirus trends and will adhere to information and recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

We’re Here to Inform – Stimulus Payment Updates
As part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the Internal Revenue Service and Treasury Department will deliver a third round of stimulus payments to eligible recipients. Although, an official date has not been set by the IRS, the Credit Union of Georgia is expected to begin receiving deposits on Wednesday, March 17th. You can check the status of your Stimulus Payment eligibility by using the Get My Payment tool on IRS.gov.
If you are eligible to receive a payment, you may receive the funds in one of the following ways:
Direct Deposit into Your Credit Union of Georgia Account
If you are eligible for a payment it should be directly deposited into the same account you used when you filed your 2019 tax return. Stimulus payments are expected to begin depositing into Credit Union of Georgia accounts beginning Wednesday, March 17th and will continue for several weeks.
Check by Mail
If you did not give the IRS your direct deposit account information through your federal tax return within the last two years then you should expect to receive a US Treasury check or debit card. We strongly urge those who do not receive a direct deposit to watch their mail carefully while awaiting your second payment.
Deposit Your Payment Faster
To deposit your paper check quickly you can utilize our Mobile App to deposit your check within minutes on your phone. If you do not have access to Remote Check Deposit, you can request access via the Mobile App.
We’re Here To Protect- Beware Of Scams
During these times of uncertainty, fraudsters have become more active and have already been quick to deploy scams to take advantage of others during these already stressful times. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Scam Tracker has received several reports of Coronavirus scams where individuals are contacted through text messages, social media post/messages or phone calls. As a reminder, government agencies do not communicate through social media outlets and they will never request an advance processing fee. Fraudsters may also attempt to scam individuals into providing account numbers under the pretense of direct depositing a stimulus check into your account. Credit Union of Georgia will never contact you via email, phone or text message requesting sensitive information.

Please be vigilant, if something doesn’t seem right, it probably isn’t.
