Board of Director Election Candidates
Mr. Lynn Rainey, Secretary
Board Member Since 2018
Mr. Lynn Rainey has been nominated for re-election to Credit Union of Georgia’s Board of Directors. Mr. Rainey began his time with Credit Union of Georgia on the Supervisory Committee in 2017 followed by serving on the Board of Directors since 2018. Mr. Rainey is the Owner and Managing Partner of Rainey & Vaughan, LLC. He holds a Juris Doctor and completes CUNA coursework annually since 2017, along with the Volunteer Leadership Institute since 2018. His financial management experience includes issuing General Counsel audit opinions, preparing financial policies, and serving on the Credit Union of Georgia Audit Committee and Board of Directors. He has also served on the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees at Marietta First United Methodist Church.
Lynn’s community leadership includes serving as President of the Kiwanis Club of Marietta, Chairman of the Marietta City School Board, Chairman of Georgia Special Olympics, and President of the Tommy Nobis Center. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb and Leadership Georgia and currently serves as Lay Leader at Marietta First United Methodist Church and on the Board of Ordained Ministry for the North Georgia Conference. He received the 2023 Cobb Bar Association Bobby Cleveland Award of Professionalism.
A graduate of Oxford College and Emory University, Lynn earned his law degree from Mercer University School of Law, where he served as President of Phi Delta Phi. He and his wife, Diane, are active members of Marietta First United Methodist Church.
Mr. David Farmer, Treasurer
Board Member Since 2022
Mr. David Farmer has been nominated for re-election to Credit Union of Georgia’s Board of Directors. Mr. Farmer began his time with Credit Union of Georgia on the Board of Directors in 2022. He is currently employed at Chick-fil-A, Inc. as the Senior Vice President of Restaurant Experience, where he provides strategic leadership for innovation, marketing, and the development of new business ventures. During his tenure with Chick-fil-A, Mr. Farmer has overseen budgets in excess of $100 million, including capital projects and the launch of new business units. His experience includes leading the creation of both a food manufacturing subsidiary and a food warehousing and distribution subsidiary, working closely with senior financial leaders, including the company’s CFO, to guide financial strategy and execution.
Outside of Chick-fil-A, Mr. Farmer serves on the board of ROAM, a fast-growing co-working business, where he contributes to strategic planning and capital stewardship. He is also deeply engaged in community service, having served as a Founding Elder of North Metro Church since 1998. He has been actively involved with Eagle Ranch for more than 20 years, including two terms as Board Chairman, and currently serves on the boards of Untold and Plywood People, organizations dedicated to global and community impact.
