Credit Union of Georgia Awards Winner $10,000 at the Cherokee County Educational Foundation’s Shamrocks & Shenanigans Gala
Cherokee County, GA – March 20, 2026 – Credit Union of Georgia proudly served as the Valedictorian Sponsor of the Cherokee County Educational Foundation’s annual Shamrocks & Shenanigans Gala held on Saturday, March 7, 2026. The festive evening brought together community leaders, educators, and supporters to celebrate and invest in the future of education across Cherokee County Schools.
As part of its sponsorship, Credit Union of Georgia also hosted the evening’s exciting PLINKO game, giving attendees a chance to participate in a fun and memorable highlight of the event. During the game, Darrah Smith, a teacher at Woodstock High School, won the top prize of $10,000, creating one of the most celebrated moments of the night.

The Shamrocks & Shenanigans Gala raised a record $250,000 to support teacher grants, student scholarships, and innovative classroom initiatives throughout the Cherokee County School District.
