Credit Union of Georgia Employees Raise Over $3,000 for The Salvation Army During Week-Long Volunteer Effort

Demonstrating their deep commitment to community service, employees from Credit Union of Georgia dedicated an entire week to volunteering with The Salvation Army by ringing the iconic red kettle bell outside the Kroger store in Kennesaw. Their enthusiastic participation and generosity of spirit resulted in raising more than $3,000 for The Salvation Army’s mission—a remarkable contribution that will have a lasting impact on local individuals and families in need.

Throughout the week, Credit Union of Georgia team members took shifts braving the December chill to engage with shoppers, spread holiday cheer, and encourage donations for a cause that resonates with their core values. This initiative was part of The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle Campaign, which supports vital programs aimed at combating poverty, addiction, and homelessness within communities both locally and globally.

What makes the Red Kettle Campaign especially meaningful is that funds raised in each community stay in that community. Thanks to the efforts of Credit Union of Georgia’s employees, the $3,000 collected will directly benefit individuals and families in Cobb County and surrounding areas, offering essential support services, shelter, food, and hope during difficult times.

“Credit Union of Georgia enjoys spreading cheer and giving back to our community! We encourage not only our employees to engage in acts of service, but we also strive to inspire our members to get involved and make a difference,” said Tom McNutt, Vice President of Information Technology at Credit Union of Georgia and Board Member of The Salvation Army Marietta Corps. “Together, we can create positive change and support our neighbors when they need it most.”

The Credit Union is proud to support charitable organizations like The Salvation Army, which have a long-standing reputation for Doing the Most Good. Their partnership reflects a shared mission of compassion, service, and community empowerment.
